CMET prides in itself in teaching you what you need to know to be a competent Sailor Nautical / Officer / Engineer Officer. The foundation stone of the institute was laid down by Capt H. Subramanian , then Principal , LBSCAMSAR, Mumbai on 10th April 1999 at its present place . Formerly the institute started by the name of Indian Institute of Maritime Studies , Lucknow . At the behest of DG Shipping, the name was changed to “CENTRE FOR MARITIME EDUCATION & TRAINING” in Year 2003.
